WASHING
- Follow the washing instructions on the wash care label
- Wash inside out
- Don’t wash at a higher temperature than instructed - it’s better for the environment and also for the garment
- Linen is easy to clean, so even a lower washing temperature works
- Only wash if necessary - spot clean and air your clothes
- Do not overload the washing machine since linen absorbs a lot of water
- If the water which is used for washing is hard, add a bit of fabric softener - otherwise using softener isn't recommended
- Linen hates slinging - light sling works best
DRYING
- Do not tumble dry - it weakens the fiber and causes shrinking and pilling
- The garment may feel a little stiff after washing which is characteristic of linen - the fabric softens after ironing and also softens in use
- Linen might shrink a bit when washing - shake, shape and lightly stretch the garment when wet
- Lay flat to dry
IRONING
- The best way to iron linen products is when they are still a bit damp
- Iron the garments inside out at medium heat
- To keep your linen clothes in as good condition as possible, store them on a hanger
