TRANSPARENT PRICING
Share
Fast fashion has distorted perceptions of product prices. The consumer may not have an idea of how much it actually costs to produce a product.
In the responsible, slow fashion industry, the majority of the product's price is made up of high-quality materials, workers' wages and design process. With transparent pricing, we want to communicate the values of our brand. We value honesty and openness.
When the garment is produced responsibly and not at the expense of nature or people, the manufacturing is reflected in the price.
PRODUCTION
Design process, samples, patterns and sizing, production, fabrics, other materials, transportation
Design process and sampling is one of the most time consuming parts in the sketch to product process. Doing many rounds of samples is also expensive.
We use high-quality fabrics in our garments and we don't take the easy way out when searching for the materials. By producing high-quality garments, they can be used longer and thereby place less burden on the environment.
Our production volumes are very low, which also affects the price of the product. We do not want to produce large quantities of products for storage.
For example, compared to Asian countries, having production in Finland is much more expensive because our salary level here is higher.
FINISHING TOUCHES
Hangtags, size- and wash care labels, packaging supplies
Even the smallest details take time and money. We want to make more responsible choices, so we use recycled paper in our packaging materials and our size- and wash care labels are made from recycled polyester and produced in Estonia.
OTHERS
Online store platform, marketing, photoshoots, accounting, insurance etc.
The price of the product should also cover the marketing costs, accounting, insurances etc. So when a product is purchased, the money does not go directly into the owners pocket. It brings money to cover fixed expenses.
+ VAT 24%
And then there's taxes.
In addition to all this, VAT will be added to the price.
Transparent pricing alone does not prove how ethical a brand is. Sustainability is a broad subject that covers many different areas.
Although we feel like we're on the right path of sustainability, neither we are perfect. We are eager and constantly striving to be more and more sustainable. We want to be transparent and co-operate with our customers.
